SEARCH THIS PAGE (Ctrl+F) for instructions on how to add various payloads (each payload may occur more than once)...

Useful Links

  • Over 100 Easy2Boot blog articles for a wide variety of different payloads and E2B configurations.
  • Click here to download Linux LiveCDs or try for bootable AIO ISOs (Gandalf, Strelec, Bob Omb's PE, DLC Boot, Medicat, etc.).
  • For Linux LiveCD+Persistence, see here, or here for Ubuntu-based ISOs or see Fedora instructions.
  • Click here (Windows download tool) or here (website) or to download official Windows Install ISOs.
  • Useful DOS + other boot disk images here (site is German but disks are USA English - make a .imz file and then save as .ima using WinImage or 7Zip).
  • DOS disk images with NTFS support here. Note: dos4ntfs.imz is buggy, use Norton Commander for NTFS - (second download) - or try FAR for NTFS - (third download)
  • For a useful list of Rescue Disks - see here.
  • SARDU is another multiboot USB solution which you might like to try - they have a useful maintained list of downloads here (note: some ISOs marked as 'EFI' do not contain EFI boot files and so will not UEFI-boot when converted to .imgPTN files - check the ISO contents contains a \EFI folder).
  • Use ChrisR's Win10PE and Win8PE WinBuilder projects to build you own WinPE.
  • The \_ISO\docs\Download URLs folder on your E2B USB drive contains many useful links - try them!
  • IsoBuster can often extract files from ISO files when 7Zip/WinRar and other applications cannot. PowerISO can be used to directly modify ISOs.
  • New! E2B 130-page eBook now available (complete course on making a multiboot USB drive)!

List 1a - Normal MBR booting (not UEFI)
List 1b - 'Special' ISOs (MBR booting)
List 1c - Supported non-contiguous ISO files (MBR-booting via ISOBOOT)
List 1d - Unsupported (i.e. they don't work - sorry!)
List 2a - UEFI booting from FAT32-formatted .imgPTN image files
List 2b - MBR\CSM booting from FAT32 or NTFS .imgPTN image files
List 3   - E2B grub2 menu system payloads (for UEFI-booting of non-UEFI ISOs)
List 4   - agFM File Manager (UEFI booting)
 IODD Mini

  • For most ISOs (except Windows Install ISOs), just copy the ISO file to the \_ISO\MAINMENU folder.
  • try 'Ventoy for Easy2Boot' for WinPE-based ISOs
  • Try to avoid spaces and special characters in file names - use _ instead of a space. If it works, then try it with spaces.
  • Some files may require the file extension to be changed (if so, it will be mentioned in the list below)
  • Some payloads may require you to add and edit a .mnu file (if so, it will be mentioned in the list below). Sample .mnu files can be found in the E2B download in the \_ISO\docs\Sample mnu Files folder. Look also for sample .txt files.
  • Generally, if it works for one version of a distro, it will work with any version of the same family/type.
  • Turn the SCROLL LOCK LED on before selecting the ISO file to see E2B suggestions
  • If a .ISO file doesn't seem to work correctly or you want to UEFI-boot from it, use the MPI Tool Kit and convert it to a FAT32 .imgPTN partition image.
  • Use the MakePartImage shortcut instead of the MPI_FAT32 shortcut if the .imgPTN file does not work correctly - this allows more options.
  • It is possible to add multiple, fully-installed linux OS's (see blog) and WindowsToGo OS's (see blog)
  • When installing from a bootable linux installation ISO, specify /dev/sdX4 as the cdrom source device (this will be the linux ISO- e.g. mount /dev/sdb4 /cdrom or sudo mount /dev/sdb4 /mnt/cdrom), where X is the USB drive letter, e.g. /dev/sdb4. Alternatively, try converting the ISO to a .imgPTN file using MPI_FAT32 (e.g. RedHat linux installation) and no special action should be required. For Debian, you may need to specify the 'CDROM' as -t vfat /dev/sdX4.
  • For .ISO files that boot to DOS 7 or later - use .ISODOS01 file extension - the CD/ISO contents can then be found on DOS drive B: after booting.
  • Some DOS programs (e.g. BIOS updates, etc.) can be copied to the E2B drive and then run using the DOS - FreeDos menu entry to boot to DOS - drive C: will be the E2B USB drive (NTFS or FAT32 supported). See also the RMPrepUSB Tutorial #33 here on how to make bootable FreeDOS floppy disk images. See E2B DOS page here.
  • For Windows PE ISOs, try .ISOPE01 (mounts ISO as Y: - only works with 'Removable' E2B USB drives or E2B USB HDD + WinHelper flash drive). For E2B USB HDD drives, some WinPE ISOs (Hirens, Gandalf, Bob Ombs, etc.)may need to be converted to .imgPTN for full functionality.
  • For WinBuilder PE ISOs always use the .iso file extension, they do not need to be fully contiguous - see here
  • For WinPE UEFI-booting, convert to FAT32 .imgPTN files.
  • If you get a syslinux boot: prompt instead of a menu - press the [TAB] key and type one of the boot options that will be listed.
  • If you want to display text files or help files - see here.
  • If you still having problems and it is not in this list below, search this site first and then Contact Me and I will try to help.

Common 'gotchas':

  • Make sure all files are contiguous (Windows Installer ISOs and VHDs don't need to be contiguous).
  • For Win 7/8/10 Install ISOs you may need to use a removable USB drive to avoid 'CD/DVD drive driver required' error (see here for workarounds). You can check what type of USB Flash drive you have (Fixed or Removable) by using RMPrepUSB. If you update to E2B v1.A8 or later a Fixed-disk E2B drive may work without needing a helper USB flash drive.
  • Many Windows Install ISOs require you to specify a Product Key or you will get a 'licence' error - even Evaluation versions which do not normally require a Product Key will give an error unless you specify the correct evaluation Product Key (tip: install it using some other method, e.g. Rufus or .imgPTNf file, and then use ProduKey to find out what key it used).
  • The .isoPE and .isoPE01 file extensions require a Removable E2B drive or an extra WINHELPER USB Flash drive.
  • If using an E2B hard disk and you have 'DVD driver' problems, convert Windows Installer Vista/7/8/10 ISO files to FAT32 .imgPTN files.
  • Try a USB 2.0 port if the correct USB 3.0 drivers are not contained in the ISO (Win7 and some linux ISOs may not contain correct USB controller drivers for modern chipsets).
  • Windows 7 does not contain modern USB drivers and so may not 'see' the USB drive once you boot to Setup.
  • Keep all files within the first 137GB if using a large USB drive (due to a common BIOS bug)
  • You cannot UEFI-boot directly from an ISO file using grub4dos\E2B menu. To UEFI-boot, use a .imgPTN partition image file or the grub2 menu system.
  • Special instructions for Windows 7 64-bit UEFI booting here
  • See FAQ  page for more 'gotchas' and issues.

The entries in bold type below have been tested by me personally.

List 1a - Normal MBR booting (not UEFI)

  1. WINDOWS INSTALLER ISOs - Windows Server 2003, XP Home/Pro use \_ISO\WINDOWS\XP folder.
  2. XP 32-bit ISOs these XP ISOs work OK with E2B and are recommended:
    updated 2013 32-bit XP Install_ISO,
    en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86 _cd_vl_x14-73974.iso
ater ISOs had problems when tested and would not fully install - e.g. Jan_2019 and June 2019 don't work correctly.
ISOs that are larger >1GB or
that contain a $OEM$ folder may not work.
For XP Pro+POS SP3 2019-03-16 or Zone94 2020-01-18 use WinSetupFromUSB to make a USB Flash drive and then use the MPI Tool Kit to make a partition image .imgPTN file from the Flash drive (say Yes to combine menu.lst files).
  3. XP 64-bit here. Note E2B+DPMS only has 32-bit disk drivers - make sure you have '64' in the filename - installs to systems with IDE Hard disks only (not SATA/SCSI/RAID unless ISO has integrated 64-bit Mass Storage drivers). XP 64-bit has very few drivers available and does not work with many chipsets made in the last 12 years. Always use 32-bit XP!
  4. POSReady 2009  - Does not work as .ISO - Trial product Key D4GQ7-HG48K-7YP6R-6JM4C-33FMQ. Read instructions at "\_ISO\docs\Sample mnu files\Windows\POS2009_ReadMe.txt" - see blog post herePOS2009 - rename .iso to \_ISO\MAINMENU\POS2009.isowinv (or copy iso file to \_ISO\WINDOWS\XP folder) and extract whole ISO to root of USB drive - see \_ISO\docs\Sample mnu files\Windows\POS2009_ReadMe.txt for more details.
  5. Windows 7 ISO - Win 7 Pro download, Win 7 Ult,  Win7 Dell Ultimate O EM downloadWin7 Home/Prof/Ult/Ent Jan2021 with latest chipset and USB 3 drivers (preactivated), Win7 Ult Aug 2020 32&64-bit STD/DAZ/OEM with latest chipset/US B3 - use STD for own licence key, use OEM for OEM embedded key activation. Win7 DUAL Home,Pro,Ent,Ult 32&64bit Jan2020 OEM/STD/KMS/DAZ.
  6. Windows Server 2003 Installer X13-04874.img - rename to .iso (use '2K3' in filename - e.g. Windows2K3.iso) and place in the \_ISO\WINDOWS\XP folder and treat as if installing XP. Usually will work using the DPMS2 mass storage drivers for XP.
  7. Windows Server 2013 - see blog post here
  8. Windows 98 Install ISO - rename to .isoDOS01 - CD files will be on B: drive. See RMPrepUSB Tutorial 117 - see blog post here. Can also make a .imgPTN file. YouTube video.
  9. Windows ME Install ISO - rename to .isoDOS01 - CD files will be on B: drive. See RMPrepUSB Tutorial 117 - see blog post here. Can also make a .imgPTN file.
  10. Tablet PC 2005 (XP SP2) and Media Center Installer ISO(s) - see blog post here.
  11. GXP SP3 2016 By Computer Media.iso - this is a heavily modified XP install ISO which includes drivers and POS2009 fix + hacks. Copy .ISO file to both \_ISO\MAINMENU (rename as .isomemwinv) and \_ISO\WINDOWS\XP folder (keep as .iso). Run Step 1 from the .isomemwinv file in MainMenu and after reboot run Step 2 from Windows Install menu - 'XP Step 2 >512MB'. If there is a Mass Storage Driver problem, try running both Step 1 and Step 2 from the Windows Install menu with DPMS (but some final auto-install features may not fully work and you may need to press ESC to skip a driver file copy in Step 1). See also Gold_XP_2016_Install.mnu in Sample mnu files folder.
  12. Windows 2000 ISOs are not directly supported - you can however make a WinSetupFromUSB flash drive for Win2K - test it - and then convert the flash drive to a .imgPTN image for use with E2B. See here.
  13. Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Server 2012, Multipoint Server, Server 2K8R2, Windows 10, Server 2016 - must be copied to the correct \_ISO\WINDOWS\xxx folder. For Win8/8.1/10 you may need to specify the correct Product Key or you may get a 'license' error or some other error. Place Windows Multipoint Server ISOs in SVR2K8R2 folder.
If using a Fixed-disk type of E2B USB drive, a WinHelper Flash drive is sometimes also required for Vista/7/8/10 - OR - convert to a .imgPTN file using the MPI Tool Kit. E2B v1.8A+ versions usualy work without requiring a WinHelper flash drive.
If non-standard Vista/7/8/10 ALL-IN-ONE (AIO) ISOs, monkrus ISOs, WinPE, Windows Repair and Microsoft Deployment Tool (MDT) ISOs do not work correctly as a .ISO file then convert them to a .imgPTN file using the MPI Tool Kit (use FAT32 if possible for UEFI boot support).
Note: Some Windows Installer ISOs (Vista/7/8/10) that don't require a Product Key may 'just work' if place them in any 'normal' payload folder - e.g. \_ISO\MAINMENU (E2B v1.8A+) - or convert them to .imgPTN files or add a 'WinHelper' USB Flash drive.
  14. Windows 8/10 Recovery - copy the "\_ISO\docs\Sample mnu files\Windows\Boot_Recovery_WIM.mnu" file to \_ISO\MAINMENU and you should be able to boot to the Recovery.wim file on any Windows 8/10 system disk without even needing a wim file on your E2B drive or a recovery partition on the target drive!
  15. Windows 7/8/10 Recovery or WinPE - use .iso or .iso01 - for WinPE's that require acccess to the WinPE CD after it has booted, if a removable USB E2B drive use .isoPE01. If based in WinBuilder, use .iso.
.isoPE/.isoPE01 may require a Removable E2B drive or a WinHelper USB Flash drive so that the ISO is loaded as a virtual drive  - if you have a USB HDD E2B drive, try converting to a .imgPTN file.
  16. Windows 7/8/10 OS WinToGo .VHD or .VHDX files - the file does not need to be contiguous and can be on another partition (v1.69+) - for instructions see blog post here and for a really easy method - see here. Quick instructions for CSM\MBR booting: use WinToUSB to make a bootable USB WinToGo drive  (using a VHD) - boot from the USB drive and complete Windows Setup - copy VHD file to E2B's \_ISO\WIN folder. Also try .vhdfira and .vhdboot file extensions if VHD contains bootmgr and BCD.
  17. WindowsXPToGo from a .VHD file, rename to .VHDBOOT - see Tutorial 110. Also try .vhdfira file extension.
  18. Windows 7/8/10 single-image PE3 .WIM files - e.g. Win8.1PESE boot.wim file - the file does not need to be contiguous and can be on another partition (v1.69+)
  19. WinBuilder Win7PE-based ISOs - always use E2B v1.90+ and .iso file extension - see blog here and instructions here
  20. Windows.7.SP1.Super.Lite.x86.v2.0.iso Win7 Lite install ISO - try .isope01 extension (requires USB Removable E2B flash drive or extra WinHelper Flash drive - must see blue console Window to load ISO as virtual drive)
  21. 'Windows 7 livecd from usb.iso' - you can also extract the boot.wim file and use that with E2B. For Hirens\HBCD menu, extract the \HBCD folder to the E2B drive, or add \Hiren.iso to the root of the E2B drive (should contain \HBCD\HBCDMenu.exe and\or \HBCD\PStart.exe).
  22. PicoXP
  23. raring-dvd-i386.iso Edubuntu 13.04 Alpha 1 Test Build

  47. KonBoot 2/1.1 Piotrbania Kon-Boot [1.1 Fre eISO h ere] (requires .mnu file FD0-konboot-v1.1-2in1.mnu from \_ISO\docs\Sample mnu files\Windows Password folder). See blo gfor details and video. For a KonBoot floppy disk image, try the extension .imgfdhd01. You can also make a FAT32 .imgPTN directly from a KonBoot flash drive (for UEFI-booting, make sure you also copy the whole \EFI folder too). Note: licensed versions are locked to the Serial number, vendor and product ID of the USB drive.
  48. Offline NT Password & Registry Editor 110511 140201 Pogostick Offline NT Password & Registry Editor ISO here
  49. Ubuntu 12.10, 13.04 Ubun tu & Ca nonical ISOs h ere - use .mnu file to run with persistence. For Install use  'mount /dev/sdb4 /cdrom' in shell then exit and detect CD-ROM. 57. HDDGuru MHDD mhdd32ver4.6.iso,  Magic_Boot_Disk_ISO_v2.0.iso (DOS based but works for non-SATA drives) - for floppy image use .IMA file extension.
  58. BootMed
  59. Puppy Linux Precise ISO precise-5.4.3.iso  Lucid Puppy Linux 5.1 - try .isopup file extension for variety of different systems (for Save/persistence on USB Flash Drive you need the Puppy_Precise_USB_Flash_Persistence.mnu file, for USB HDD you need Puppy_Precise_USB_HDD_Persistence .mnu).
For Legacy OS 2.1, you need to make a FAT32 .imgPTN file from the ISO, then edit the new \syslinux.cfg file inside the image to use PMEDIA=usbflash instead of PMEDIA=idehd. It will then boot from a USB drive. Note: To boot under a VM, you need to delete the PMEDIA=usbflash or, if that doesn't work, use PMEDIA=satahd or PMEDIA=idehd depending on what controller you have configured the USB drive under. You may find it usefull to increase the size of the .imgPTN to allow puppy to save files to the partition.
Install Puppy to HDD - before start install - in Terminal type mkdir /cdrom mount /dev/sdb4 /cdrom (where sdb is the USB drive). This mounts the ISO as the cdrom so it can be found by the installer. Do not create a Save file and copy .sfs from CDROM when requested on shutdown.

List 1b - 'Special' ISOs (MBR booting)

Tip: Try agFM and Ventoy menus if problems.
  • Mageia 3 Dual CD – When the message 'can’t find Installation disc' appears, then Cancel, then select Hard disk from the menu. Next select the USB disk and sdb4 or whatever the USB drive was named, make sure 4th partition is selected and OK twice (you can instead point it to the installation ISO file on the USB drive).
  • Trinity Rescue Disk - type sdb4 (if USB drive is 2nd drive) (tip from saddlejib on - to list drives type blkid in linux bash prompt and then type reboot) - see tutorial #58 to see how to get it to work automatically by making a FAT16 image.
  • ReactOS LiveCD - must extract all files from the ISO and use the .mnu file in docs folder (Note: USB support seems to be broken in recent versions so it no longer boots!)
  • igel- see tutorial 38 for workaround.
  • OpenElec Installer - see my blog here for how to run this from E2B.
  • OpenELEC LIVE - run XMBC direct from the Easy2Boot menu even on an NTFS USB drive - see here for instructions - 2013 and 2014 versions.
  • Older ESET SysRescue ISOs based on WinPE - see Tutorial 115 and blog entry here.
  • HP Bootable linux utility tool ISOs - e.g. hpacuoffline-8.87-12.0 - extract the ISO to the root of the E2B drive and use/adapt the HP_hpacuoffline-8.75-12.0.mnu file as required. Only one ISO can be extracted if you use a .mnu file. For multlple HP ISOs, make an .imgPTN image from a working HP formatted Flash drive using MakePartImage and add it to your E2B drive (you may need to select Syslinux 3.7 instead of the default syslinux) - OR - simply drag-and-drop the HP ISO file onto the MPI FAT32 Desktop shortcut to make the image file (e.g. hpssaoffline-2.20-11.0.iso Offline HP Smart Storage Administrator Utility 5/1/2015). Video tutorial here.
  • Windows 7 Black Alien Edition x64-final.iso + various other 'custom' Windows Installer ISOs - must convert to .imgPTN files (see below).
  • ArcaBit (polish) rescue CD (Arcanix) - extract the contents of the ISO and use the ArcaBit.mnu sample mnu file. See blog post here.
  • Compound grub4dos ISO files - e.g. Acronis Boot DVD 2014 v17. - Any ISO which contains multiple smaller ISO files inside it and uses grub4dos - try a .isogrub file extension (v1.B6+) or make a .imgPTN file from the ISO.
  • OpenBSD upgrade from ISO install57.iso  v5.7 - see here. See also OpenBSD_install59.mnu Sample menu file and blog post here. Also try Ventoy.
  • Phoenix OS - needs to be extracted and you can have persistence too - see blog post here.
  • Some .ISOs of FreeNas, Nas4Free, TrueOS, NetBSD, DesktopBSD, DragonFly and PCBSD can be made to work using alternate methods. Memstick images with a single A5 type partition and some FreeBSD ISOs should work using .imgPTN files- see here. Also see blog post here about making a UnetBootin drive first and then converting it to a .imgPTN file for adding to E2B. Try Ventoy for Easy2Boot.
  • nomadbsd - this won't boot as an IMG - it is intended to be written to a USB drive. If you make a .imgPTN file from it, then it will boot but then corrupt your partition because it assumes it can repartition the USB drive! 'The setup creates a new partition for the /home directory which uses the remaining space on the storage device. Depending on the size, creating the file system can take several minutes.'

List 1c - non-contiguous ISO files (MBR-booting via ISOBOOT)

E2B will attempt to boot non-contiguous linux ISO files using isoboot.g4b (a grub4dos batch file).
ISOBOOT uses linux cheat codes (kernel parameters) such as isofrom=xxx.iso and iso-scan/filename=xxx.iso so it may not always work!
The following distros have been tested using the 'ISOBOOT' feature of E2B.
ISOBOOT looks at the filename to 'guess' how to boot the ISO file (e.g. if the name has 'ophcrack' in it then it will assume it is an ophcrack iso).
Tip #1: To boot using just ISOBOOT, highlight the E2B menu entry, hold down the SHIFT key and press the ENTER key (then release the SHIFT key).
Tip #2: If booting via 'ISOBOOT', ensure there are no spaces in the filename and check the OS name is part of the filename, e.g. if the ISO is debian based, include 'debian' in it's filename, if Ubuntu-based add 'ubuntu to the filename
Tip #3: Copy \_ISO\e2b\grub\isoboot.g4b to the \_ISO folder and edit it - it will be automatically used by E2B.
  1. ubuntu
  2. linuxmint (linuxmint-cinnamone 17.1 64-bit 'Rebecca')
  3. fedora (not NTFS or exFAT)
  4. kali
  5. opensuse (not NTFS or exFAT)
  6. systemrescue (ESET requires extraction of casper folder to \sysrescue\casper to E2B drive)
  7. knoppix
  8. debian
  9. tails
  10. gparted
  11. centos
  12. arch (user will be prompted for 32-bit or 64-bit boot, if dual ISO detected)

  25. Voyager (ensure the string 'ubuntu' is in the filename e.g. Voyager-14.04.04-amd64_ubuntu.iso)
  26. ophcrack - ensure \tables folder exists on E2B drive and use notables ISO (v1.77+)
  27. ElementaryOS (v1.B0+)

Let me know if you find a problem or need support for another ISO using ISOBOOT.

List 1d - These are not supported (i.e. they don't work - sorry!)

These cannot be made to work using Easy2Boot Menu (MBR booting)

Tip: Try agFM and Ventoy menus.

  • MikroTik Router install ISO (hard coded for CD-ROM) - DOES NOT WORK!
  • ROSA - even UEFI-booting from a FAT32 or FAT16 partition gives a 'wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda' error ???
  • Stresslinux - needs to be on an ext3 partition. Could possibly make a .imgPTN (E2B) file + ext3 . partition image file??
  • ChromiumOS .img files - these have multiple partitions and are not suitable for E2B. Try Cub linux instead.
  • Minix3 needs real CD
  • Syllable 522 522 522 522 522 Desktop-Live needs real CD
  • Visopsys .iso or .img needs real media
  • Icaros .iso - needs real media (CD or floppy disk)  pc-i386-boot-iso
  • PLAC Portable Linux Auditing CD plac-2.9.5.iso - looks for CD-ROM

List 2 - Partition Image (.imgPTN) files

.imgPTN files are sector-for-sector copies of whole disk partitions and are made using MakePartImage (MPI Tool Kit). A video tutorial about MakePartImage is here

List 2a - UEFI booting (from FAT32-formatted .imgPTN image files)

This is not a complete list of all ISOs - only the ones I have tested. Some ISOs mentioned in the MBR list may also support UEFI-booting.
If your payload contains a \EFI\boot folder, then it is probably UEFI-bootable.
Drag-and-drop the ISO onto the MPI_FAT32 Desktop shortcut to make a .imgPTN file. Then copy the file to the E2B USB drive and make it contiguous.
Please note: You cannot boot via UEFI directly to the grub4dos\E2B menu.
You must first MBR-boot or use the  \_ISO\SWITCH_E2B.exe utility utility to 'switch in' the image partition file.
This will replace the E2B partitions with the new partition so you that can then UEFI-boot from the new FAT32 partition.
After UEFI-booting, you must restore the E2B partition by MBR-booting or by running the \e2b\SWITCH_E2B.exe utility to 'Restore E2B partitions' again.

List 3 - Grub2 menu system (linux ISOs)

E2B can also switch to a grub2-based menu system for additional linux UEFI-boot options.
The advantage of using grub2 is that it is often possible to UEFI-boot to ISOs and other payloads that the payload itself does not support.

Note: Each ISO must be given a specific name (e.g. ubuntu.iso) and be in lower-case letters - any other name will not work. For a list of recognised ISO names, see the Excel spreadsheet included in the download.

For instance, Kali, Fedora and Dr.Web ISOs do not support UEFI-booting, even if making a .imgPTN file from the ISO, but you can UEFI-boot to these ISOs by using grub2.

For more details see he re.

Listed below are the additional  UEFI boot options (i.e. boot options not available if using .imgPTN files and not available from the ISO itself) that are available if using the grub2 menu system is used as a bootloader:

  • deftz EFI32
  • kali EFI64
  • kali light 32 EFI64 & EFI32
  • Network Security Toolkit nst EFI64 & EFI32
  • ophcrack EFI64 & EFI32
  • weakerthan EFI64 & EFI32
  • debian EFI64
  • fedora EFI64
  • knoppix EFI64
  • systemrescuecd EFI32
  • zorin32 EFI32
  • avira EFI32
  • bitdefender EFI32
  • Paragon Mini Tool Partition Wizard pwh32 EFI32
  • drweb EFI64 & EFI32
  • easyre8 and 10 (MBR boot only)
  • eset System rescue NOD32 ISO EFI-32 & EFI-64 (see blog here). For ESET 2020 version see here.
An Excel speadsheet is available on this page which lists all the payloads currently supported and which ISOs have been tested.
You can add your own grub2 menu entries for different payloads by creating xxxx.grub2 menu files.

List 4 - a1ive grub2 File Manager (UEFI64)

See her e for how to add this to your E2B drive to support UEFI-booting.  Just browse to the file and boot.
I suggest using the E2B menu system for MBR\Legacy booting.
Linux ISO files and .imgPTN files must be contiguous.
Tip: Instead of using .isodef, for 64-bit ISOs try .isodef64.
WinPE ISOs usually need a .iso extension (try end-name+extension of somewinpe_.isomap.iso for use with both E2B and agFM).
Most Linux LiveCD ISOs should work using Boot ISO (partnew\Easy2Boot) option (.isodef).
For Secure UEFI64 booting of Windows Install ISOs.
If booting from an ISO does not work then convert the ISO to a FAT32 .imgPTN23 file.
To skip the secondary boot menu, change the file extension as recommended: .isoloop, .isomem, .isoPE, .isodef
Sample .cfg and .grubfm files can be found in the '\e2b\Menu Files to copy to payload volume' folder.
eBook #4 contains full details and Exercises on how to add different payloads.
Tip: Try Ventoy menu (f5) if problems with WinPE-based or Linux ISOs.
  1. Microsoft Windows Install ISOs - place .xml files in same folder (or can use .cfg or .grubfm menu files) (2GB+ RAM required). - Use .ISO or  .imgPTN file for Secure UEFI boot.
  2. Passmark MemTest86 - .EFI files (latest version includes MemTest86 in FAT32 \MEMTEST86 folder).
  3. DLCBoot2019_v3.6.iso - use xxxxx_.isohw.iso. Spaces allowed in filename. UEFI64, MBR is supported for WinPE x64 and MBR-only for WinPE 10 32-bit. WinPE XP is not supported for UEFI. Use .imgPTN23 for full menu.
  4. Bob Omb's WinPE - Must end in .iso (check Y: has ISO loaded). Use an extension of xxxxx _.isomap64.iso so that E2B will use .isomap and in agFM choose ‘map/WinPE’ option or Windows option. Filename can contain spaces. Convert to a FAT32 .imgPTN23 file for full functionality.
  5. Sergei Strelec WinPE use .isowin or .iso, but conversion to .imgPTN23 is recommended for full compatability.
  6. HBCD_PE_x64.iso -  use .isomap64, or boot using .iso and  'Boot ISO (WinPE) [.isomap]' option or 'Boot ISO (Easy2Booot)' option.
  7. Gandalf - RedStone 3 use _.isomap.iso. Redstone 5 use _.isodef.iso. Must end in .iso (check Y: is ISO). Filename can contain spaces. Alternatively convert to a FAT32 .imgPTN23 file.
  8. Medicat 18.10 - Use an extension of xxxxx _.isomap.iso. Must end in .iso. (check Y: has ISO loaded) - filename can contain spaces - or convert to a FAT32 .imgPTN23 file.
  9. DrWebb - drweb-livedisk-900-cd.iso - use .isodef
  10. Eset - eset_sysrescue_live_enu.iso. Use .isoloop.iso. For ESET 2020 version see here.
  11. Debian - debian-10.2.0-amd64-DVD-1.iso - use .isodef, when source DVD requested change /dev/cdrom to /dev/sda4.
  12. SystemRescueCD - use .isodef
  13. PCUnlocker UEFI64 and UEFI32 version - pcunlocker.iso
  14. Manjaro - manjaro-kde-18.1.5-191229-linux54.iso (use partnew boot option or .isodef)
  15. Kaspersky Rescue Disk - krd.isoagfm.iso - keep as .iso and use 'Boot Kaspersky Rescue Disk from ISO'.
  16. Desinfect 2019 - use (loopback) boot option or use .isoloop.iso file extension - successful booting can be very erratic and only seems to work about 1 in 6 times!
  17. Norton Bootable Recovery Tool - nbrt.iso - no EFI boot files, use the . nbrt.grubfm sample file provided + User menu or .imgPTN23 for UEFI booting.
  18. Avast - use .imgPTN23
  19. GData antivirus - use .isodef or .imgPTN23
  20. Windows Defender Offline - use .imgPTN23 (may have USB kbd/mouse issues).
  21. Anhdv_Boot_2019_191024.iso - for MBR-booting under E2B and UEFI and full menu, rename extension to Anhdv_Boot_2019_191024_.isogrub.iso
  22. Trend Micro ISO - use .imgPTN23
  23. Parrot OS - use .isodef
  24. paldo .img files - paldo-live-x86_64-unstable.img - make FAT32 .imgPTN23 - switch in image - edit "D:\loader\entries\5.5.16-paldo1-x86_64.conf" so volume name is EASY2BOOT  (case sensitive - must be all capitals). Ensure FAT32 volume label matches. root=/dev/disk/by-label/EASY2BOOT. UEFI64 boot only. - e.g. paldo-live-x86_64-unstable.imgPTN23auto
  25. Boot-repair-d isk.iso boot repair disk 64bit.iso - use .isoloop64 for 64-bit version. Tip: to avoid it 'repairing' (damaging!) the MBR on the E2B USB drive, disconnect the E2B USB drive as soon as you reach the Boot-repair Desktop.
  26. kali kali-linux-2019-02-amd64.iso, use .isodef
  27. Tails - 4.2, 4.6, 4.16  UEFI64 - requires a .grubfm men u file. See \e2b\Sample Menu files folder. Test using a real system (not a VM) + Removable USB drive.
  28. Ubuntu - ubuntu-18.04.3-desktop-amd64.isodef - use .isodef or .isoloop, for persistence use a .grubfm menu file or .cfg file or .isopersist and a persistence file.
  29. XUbuntu - use .isodef or .isoloop, for persistence use a .cfg or grubfm file and a persistence file.
  30. Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-31-1.9.isodef

  38. dpupbuster64-8.0.0-uefi-RC-2-28122019.imgPTN23auto
  39. VMWare ESXi installer ISO VMware_ESXi_7.0.0_15843807_HPE_700.
  40. Batocera - see here convert to .imgPTN file
  41. HDClone 9 ISO - can use .isodef or .isomap. Use a real system (not VBox) to test. On some systems you may get a 'shim' error due to the bootx64.efi shim file they use in the ISO. If so, then make a USB drive using the HDClone application (spanner - Boot Setup) . Then create a .imgPTN23 file from the USB drive by drag-and-drop onto the MPI_FAT32 Desktop  shortcut (MPI Tool Kit required). Rename \EFI\BOOT\grub.efi to \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.efi (rename or delete the original BOOTX64.EFI). You can instead use MPI_FAT32 to convert the ISO file to a .imgPTN23 file and then rename the grub.efi file.
  42. Acronis True Image ISOs - if WinPE-based use .isodef. If Linux/bootwiz based use .isomem or .isoventoy.
  43. Raspberry Pi Desktop x86 - to install - say 'No' to cdrom driver, - 'none' - and change /dev/cdrom to /dev/sdX4 where X = USB drive letter e.g. /dev/sdb4 (use ls /dev/sd* to list devices). ISO will always be partition 4 if use E2B menu or .isodef.
  44. - if problems UEFI64-booting, use 7zp to extract the bootx64.efi file and rename it to
  45. pop-os_20.04_amd64_intel_13.isoUse a real system - may not work from Virtual Box (maybe it needs to see a real USB drive?).
  46. iSeePassword - Windows Pasword Recovery Advanced - if UEFI version, find ISO file and extract \sources\boot.wim file. Copy boot.wim file to \_ISO\WINPE folder.
  47. anhdvboot WinPE
  48. AntiVirusLiveCD - 64-bit CPU only - non-EFI - can UEFI64 boot only by using .cfg or .grubfm menu file for agFM. See \e2b\Sample agFM menu files folder (agFM v1.71+))
  49. Slax - 64Bit-9.11.0.iso - use the 'Slax' boot option. Slax does not normally support UEFI as it has no UEFI boot files.
